Maybe you’ve completely forgotten about NaNoWriMo and now here it comes, crawling from the well whispering ‘seven days’ because you just had to watch that tape, didn’t you, you just had to go out of your way to find a VCR and pop in the tape clearly labeled DO NOT WATCH. This post is for you.
Maybe you have been aware of NaNoWriMo and have been watching it approach with growing yet resigned horror, like the monster that has you trapped in the basement and is taking its sweet-ass time to come and kill you, just to make you suffer more. This post is for you.
Maybe you’ve been planning for months and and have everything neatly organized and have been ready to cheerfully to shout your word count to the heaven for weeks now. With all due respect, bugger off, this post is not for you.
Hey friends! So I’m a little late to post these, but better late than never, right? Anyway let’s start with my quarterly goals from summer and see how I did!
**Have The Moon-Eyed Ones ready for publication
—Done! It’s actually published. 🙂
**Decide whether to go traditional or self-pub
—Done. See #1.
**Increase social media presence
—This is half a win. I’m doing more than I used to, but not as much as I’d like.
**Create yoga and exercise regimen
—Did this one!
**Finish outline for next MS
—Did this too!
**Complete at least 25,000 words on next MS
—Pfft. No. Fail on this one, I’m only 6,000 words in.
**Get a mailing list
—Didn’t do this one either.
**Write a query for The Moon-Eyed Ones
—I did this too, but I ended up self-publishing. It was a good exercise, though.
**Manage blood sugar better
—For those that don’t know, I have Type 2 Diabetes and was actually diagnosed right before the quarter. But my A1C went from a 9.6 in May to a 6.4 in August. This one is a major win!
**Research more on self-publishing and costs of cover designers, formatting, and publishing
—Did this and published. 🙂
Alrighty, so that’s 8 out of 10. Woo! Now for my Autumn/Winter goals for the remainder of the year.
* [ ] Finish 2/3 of draft 1 of new MS
* [ ] Put WIP information for new MS on my website, including first 3 chapters
* [ ] Increase marketing for TMEO
* [ ] Hold a giveaway
* [ ] Retain exercise regimen
* [ ] Keep blood sugar under control
* [ ] Keep skin care regimen
* [ ] Retain my current weight (try to not lose anymore weight)
* [ ] Start organizing edits and possible recruit call for beta readers for new MS
* [ ] Finish knitting project and start new project
I got pretty fed up with looking for words to replace said because they weren’t sorted in a way I could easily use/find them for the right time. So I did some myself.
