Remaking my donations post, with updated info!

The date I am writing this post is March 26th 2021!!

Weyk-t, my name is Shannon! I’m a 24 year old Secwépemc/Hungarian Rromani woman.

May 24th 2018, I had my entire jaw, and left fibula removed in a 10 hour surgery, to remove an aggressive tumor in my jaw!! The fibula was used to rebuild me a brand new custom jaw.

Iv had 5 surgeries since November 2016.

I ALSO have stage 3 CRPS, from my right hip to my toes. It’s a degenerative disease, that is spreading throughout my entire body.

I am in the middle of applying for ODSP, aka a financial disability support program!

But until then, I’m stuck with zero income.

And my father, who’s severely beaten me, my entire life, has gone back on his bullshit.

Hes currently denying me, my liquid food (with my new Jaw, I’m on a surgeon mandated liquid diet) and starving me for days at a time.

So here I am, begging yall for cash, so I can buy myself my liquid food, so I don’t starve.

    Pay Shannon Nagy using PayPal.Me

    Kukwstsétsemc te sknúncwentsemc 🙏💖

    (Thank you for helping me)

Hey yall!! I’m heading out to the store tomorrow, for liquid food, my prescription medication, and menstrual products. Can anyone float $14 my way, so I can ensure I can get everything I need 🙇‍♀️💖

    nativenews:

    In Memoriam Ken Andrews (@baapi-makwa)

Beloved father, beloved son, beloved Ojibwe artist, and beloved friend to many walked on this morning, the 27th of April 2021. He was born July 18th, living in northern Wisconsin.

As an artist, he worked primarily with pen and paper, making a modern spin on
traditional designs and drawings. He used the  moniker Baapi Makwa (’laughing bear’) and that reflected his light-hearted and kind spirit. He loved bears, video games such as Dragon Age and Warcraft, drawing, puppies, his kitties Bambalam and Oscar, his family, learning his language, Gichigami, and flowers.

He is survived by his father and his two twin daughters. He is already sorely missed. We hope he is happy and soon to reunite with his mom, his pup Chance, and his belly button.

being online right now is very irritating and stressful because if i open twitter it is divided between two streams right now: extreme doomposting and SOS’ from indian friends/follows and europeans & americans posting earnest but woefully misguided, and therefore patronizingly offensive bullshit, about the west needing to help india

like. this was a government manufactured crisis end to end, but no we’re not actually asking for vaccines that you can’t release because of contracts. we are specifically asking for specialist materials that are produced in the USA to be released so we can continue to manufacture vaccines because guess what, we do have one of the biggest vaccine manufacturing capabilities in the world, and the serum institute of india is the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer, but none of that makes a difference if we do not have the material to make vaccines. which is what this is about.

like. i appreciate sanders campaigning to waiver the TRIPS provision but like that is not actually the critically urgent need, the critical urgent need is repealing the defense production act so we can have fucking materials to produce vaccines. you could waiver TRIPS and still not have fucking vaccines BECAUSE THERE ARE NO MATERIALS TO MAKE THE VACCINES WITH BECAUSE CRITICAL SPECIALIST MATERIALS ARE BEING HELD UP IN THE USA.

this is not a case of technology transfer, this is a case of basic supply chain management and hiccups affected by protectionism. why is this so hard to understand. why is this simple basic fact glancing off everyone’s backs. adar poonawalla has been publicly asking for release of these materials for two fucking months, and now that india is in the headlines for the disaster what do well-meaning western leftists/progressives do? talk about shipping vaccines and waiving TRIPS, instead of the simple and immediate action that would actually eliminate a critical hiccup for vaccine production not only in india and europe. is it really that hard to understand that we don’t need gifts or donations; we need you to open up fucking supply chains.

#repost A drawing of Silas I did when I first started #themooneyedones years ago, I think in 2014. I wanted to insinuate he was mad because fell out of a tree. But honestly, for 2020, this is a real mood. #characterdesign #artistsoninstagram #writersofinstagram #melungeon

    melunjeon-deactivated20210428:

So in my existential moment, I found things about Machisaba, a Melungeon folk religion/practice…

I have literally never heard of this? Like I’m very familiar with Appalachian folk practices (I’m a folk practitioner myself), but can other Melungeons confirm/deny this? If this is a real thing I’m interested, I just have never read anything about such a practice in all my years of reconnecting and writing books based off of my Melungeon heritage.

    Can anyone help?
