Fantastic Beast of Good Fortune, Shigemitsu Enrosai
reblog for good fortune
Also translated as “An Auspicious Beast” and alternatively titled “Twelve Precepts”, this mid-19th century woodblock print combines all twelve animals of the zodiac into a single creature, and would be a really sick basis for a fursona.
Good fortune!
As best as I can figure it breaks down like this:

so in a non-woodblock art style it would be something like

…I’m not sure how I feel about this one.
no no this is really good

Artist Paints the Universe and Nature into Black Women’s Hair
Pierre Jean-Louis is a multimedia artist based in New York and Philadelphia, who has built up quite a social media following as a result of his unique works. Jean-Louis paints mystical images of the universe and nature onto images of Black women’s natural hair. His intricate works feature flowers, vines, and even an entire forest, all seamlessly woven into coils and kinks. Jean-Louis even invites his followers to tag him in their photos on Instagram so that he can consider their portraits as well.

Hello, everybody! I’m still alive! (But barely…) I’m back a bit late with my quarterly goals for the summer, but let’s see how I did the last 3 months.
1. Complete TFG 1 and send it through professional developmental edits (round 2)
–This is done. 🙂
2. Start 2 weekly segments again on blog/instagram, including Four Gods Friday
–I did not do this. Fail.
3. Restart mental health routine
–I actually had to revamp my entire mental healthcare routine, so this is technically a win. More on this later.
4. Dance (for exercise purposes) at least 3 times weekly
–Nope. Fail.
5. Keep blood sugar under control
–Despite all my health issues, this has actually been a success.
6. Eat healthier and learn more recipes to cook
–Ehh…this is debatable. I’d count it a half win.
7. Revamp author platform
–Ha, definitely didn’t do this. Fail.
8. Read more!
–Yes!
9. Get my hair cut/colored
–No.
10. Outline TFG 2
–Surprisingly, this actually did get done. Win!
And that’s 5 ½ out of 10, and that’s a successful quarter. I’m glad I was able to complete more than I thought I did. To be completely frank with you all, the last three months have been some of the hardest that I can remember. I have been suffering from multiple infections, diabetes complications, and I was recently diagnosed with a panic disorder due to the stress I am undergoing at work, all of which have made me reconsider my current stage in life. Moving forward, I will be undergoing major changes that I hope will be for the better. While my author platform and The Four Gods need attention this coming quarter, I only have 2 goals. That’s right…just 2.
1. Devote most of my time to my health (both physical and mental) and to self care.
2. Revamp my author platform for final editing stages of TFG.
Hopefully this quarter will go much better and you’ll start to see more of me and content for The Four Gods. See you soon!
